The EFI Fiery connector allows you to track printing and reprinting on Fiery controllers.

Setting up the Fiery connector

Adding to an established Argos print device

If the MFP that hosts your Fiery controller is already represented in Argos, then:

  1. Navigate to the Devices page in Argos Manager
  2. Locate the MFP with which you wish to associate the Fiery controller
  3. In the right-hand pane of Manager, locate "EFI Fiery" in the Advanced Tracking section. Click and drag it onto the MFP you identified in step 2.
  4. The Fiery controller appears as a child entry of the MFP you identified in step 2
  5. Complete the Fiery configuration dialog as described below
Setting up a standalone Fiery connector

If you don't wish to associate your Fiery controller with any particular device, then:

  1. Navigate to the Devices page in Argos Manager
  2. In the right-hand pane of Manager, locate "EFI Fiery" in the Advanced Tracking section. Click and drag it onto the MFP you identified in step 2.
  3. Complete the Fiery configuration dialog as described below

Configuring the Fiery connector

Fiery server - enter the IP address or hostname of your Fiery controller

Fiery username / Fiery password - enter the credentials required to access the Fiery controller. Click the Test button to ensure that Argos can successfully connect to the controller.

Item mapping - on this tab, use the two dropdown lists to specify the Media you wish to associate with monochrome and color printing, respectively

Paper sizes mapping - on this tab, use the two dropdown lists to associate Paper Sizes with small and large jobs, respectively. The "Advanced Paper Size Mappings" button is described below

Enabled - check this box to enable tracking on the Fiery controller. Conversely, uncheck the box if you wish to suspend tracking on the controller.

Integration server - use this dropdown to specify the Argos Integration Server on which you wish this connector to run. This option is only enabled when you have two or more Integration Servers in your Argos system.

License - click this button and follow the subsequent prompts to license the Argos connector

Advanced paper size mappings

Click the "Advanced Paper Size Mappings" button on the Paper Size Mappings tab displays the Advanced Paper Size Mappings dialog. From here you can manage the relationship between paper sizes reported by your Fiery controller, and paper sizes defined in Argos. The Argos connector comes with some common mappings already in place; you should only need to access this part of the connector if your Fiery controller is reporting unexpected or unknown paper sizes.
