What is Argos OnBoard for Sharp?

Argos OnBoard for Sharp enables user authentication on the panel of your MFP, provides Secure Release and Global Print functionality, and tracks all copy, print and scan activity. Argos provides Single Sign On access to other OSA applications and can set different printing limits and restrictions for different users.

How to enable Proximity or Swipe card authentication with Argos OnBoard for Sharp

Argos OnBoard for Sharp supports login by proximity and swipe cards. On some models, an external reader is required, and is available from Sepialine. Other models have a built-in proximity reader. Confirm with Sharp to determine if your model has a built-in reader.

To set up your Sharp for the default authentication mode, follow these steps:

  1. Type your Sharp IP address in a web browser
  2. Enter your administrator login name and password. The default for Sharp is username: admin, password: admin.
  3. Browse to Application Settings>External Application Settings>External Accounting Application Settings
  4. Set "External Account Control" to "Enable"
  5. Click "Set Authentication Server (Server 1)"
  6. Type "Argos" in "Application Name"
  7. Type https://YOURARGOSSERVERIP:7082/sea/ui/LogonByPincard.htm in "Address for Application UI"
  8. Type https://YOURARGOSSERVERIP:7082/sea/ in "Address for Web Service"
  9. Click "Submit" button
  10. Click "Reboot Now" button when you are ready to restart the device and turn on Argos OnBoard for Sharp
